education
The University of Michigan is well recognized for its collaborative, inter-disciplinary, and applied approach to education (see People)
SMART builds on this foundation to foster innovative, whole-systems approaches to sustainable urban transportation through courses, programs and other learning opportunities.
SMART has generated and led a number of applied interdisciplinary Masters projects and has provided knowledge and advisory support on a range of learning opportunities throughout the university as well as within the Southeast Michigan community. SMART also participates in a number of multi-institution, multi-sector collaborative research projects in which students of all levels are active and engaged.
Recognizing the growing need for inter-disciplinary, whole-systems education and training related to sustainable urban transportation and accessibility worldwide, SMART is currently exploring opportunities to offer full interdisciplinary programs both at the graduate levels and for mid-career professionals.
